Oh! I don't mean to upstage the auction in the post below. But there's only one day left for bids (it ends Dec 3 at 10pm) and I wanted to get this contest going as quickly as possible.
Oh yeah about the hook. That's a very real glass Crimmis light bulb and I made the wood of.... you guessed it..... APPLE. Physical details dont' matter but just so's you know, the assembled hook and stand are about 7 inches tall and the hook itself is 5 5/8 inches long. Sizewise it's 7.5mm. The hook is fully functional and comfy to use (crochets very like an egg hook) but remember it is a glass bulb so be gentle.
Now dash away dash away dash away all... and enter !
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!
JIMBO

BayouGramma here! I been good! I love those hooks. Reminds me of the craft my Dad could make. He passed away in 1997 but I could just imagine him saying, "I can do that!" :D

I just found this blog and the hooks are so beautiful. I want to try carving my own, but know it will take a lot of practice before I get this good.

I'd love to know what a hook like this would feel like in my hand - I've only ever used metal hooks up till now. Please enter me in your generous drawing.
What a beautiful hook! I have been nice (mostly) and hope I get a chance to try it out!
This hook is so clever... Thanks for sharing over at Rav! I've never tried one of your hooks before (my couch eats my cheapies regularly) but would love to try! I love the strong taper on the in-line.
Love the feel of wood and can only imagine what a crochet hook would feel like!!
Oh...apple wood! I deserve that hook! If I could afford those hooks I would buy a whole set!!!

Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Who will the lucky gal (or guy) be???
How could you NOT be happy with a unique hook like this? Every time you picked it up and started working with it, you would know that you are holding the work of an artist!! Oh, and the whole naughty or nice thing? Doesn't it all depend on the perspective of the person being asked?! I'm counting on Santa to turn a blind eye to my condition - LOL!
What a beautiful hook! I can feel the smooth wood in my hand. I have only ever crocheted with the old standard hooks, but would love to try one of yours.

I am so glad you are feeling better and that you have been able to make more beautiful hooks!!
May you and your family have a blesed and wonderful Christmas and New Year!!
I just joined to follow you for an extra entry.
Teresa gets another entry as a follower!
It's beautiful, the green goes so nicely with the wood.
I almost hope I don't win it, because the glass bulb would shatter on the tiles, and I would be too frightened to use it! - but it is beautiful, and I really don't mean any of the above......so please enter me.
Yes it is glass and yes it could shatter on tiles, or any hard surface. But it's replaceable. Just take care that it doesn't shatter in your hand. Not sure how that could happen, but winner take care, please.

This hook is so cute! Merry Christmas to all.
Hi, Jimbo! Thanks for giving away this awesome hook. It's a size that I'm lacking so in addition to it's intrinsic awesomeness it would fill in a hole in my hook collection. I do follow your blog. I checked to make sure and was shocked (shocked I say!) that I didn't so I signed right up.
Very clever! I hope it will grace my mantle!
Amy once more cause she's a follower
