Just one last picture, taken at the Ranch on Dec. 15. It was another of those -2 degree pictures, taken as the sun was rising, with the air needle sharp and so quiet you could hear the beat of a bird's wings overhead.
Sure its cold, but a good cold if you can imagine such a thing. Bright blue sky, sunlight in the trees, and the blue shadows remind me, now that I see the picture on the screen, of a Maxfield Parrish painting.
Ah but we're not at the Ranch now... we're here in Spokane, and I'll admit I'm longing to be back on the Ranch to watch the snowflakes twinkle and listen to the fire crackle.
Yet its good here too. Here we're getting ready for the annual Christmas gathering, with presents for those who will brave the snow to Gramma's house, where the air will smell of roasting turkey and Christmas tree, and the rooms will be filled with the sounds of loved ones visiting and grandkids playing. Only sad part is that we'll miss the ones who couldn't get there because of the snow.
Yup... Its just a good time of the year, and my hope is that it is all this and more for YOU!
And to all who visit my blog, thank you for your support and encouragement through the past year. I'm a very lucky guy to have such great friends!
My very best wishes
