Something Grand!!!

What you are looking at here is our brand new cabin on the crick!!!!
Yes its the dream come true! We spent this last week-end up there, all nice and cozy, with windows looking out on the most achingly beautiful snow scenes I can remember.
So I have to confess, the house is not one that I built. And that's a bit of a disappointment because you all know the dream was to build myself. But that disappointment pales and grows ever dim in the sparkle of Karol's eye as she gleefully talks of plans for having friends overnight.... the glow of my sister Bert's face as she sat in a comfortable rocker and gazed out over the place that's so full of memories of our family gatherings up there.... and the happy voices of my grand kids as they played in the snow and rode their sleds down the hill in front of the house to the apple tree that has lived through it all... the clink of dishes and happy conversation not to mention the delicious smells coming from the kitchen, the utter quiet at night and cozy warmth of the comforter that contrasts with the bite of cold on my nose from the bedroom window..... the sparkle of snow in the bright sunlight...all this and more convince me that taking forever to build the place myself was a selfish thing to do.
Oh, I'll get to do some hand work too. I'll still get to add the front porch (and we'll finally have a REAL Jimbo's front porch. But for now, we have a cozy, warm, and very friendly home on the crick and I'm beyond delighted to share the news with YOU!
All considered, I have concluded that I'm absolutely the luckiest guy in the world. And it comes in no small part from your support. I can't say that the house was paid for with Jimbo hooks.... I simply can't whittle that fast. But your generous contributions certainly helped a great deal and what's more, your encouragement and kind thoughts have, well just how do I say this without shedding a totally unloggerlike tear; meant more to me than you can know, and I sincerely thank you all.
Will I quit making hooks? No way. There's still Jimbo's front porch to build. And when that's done? Well lets say another of my dreams is to actually sit on my front porch looking out over the meadow, and whittle hooks (ok that's not very loggerlike either, but that's the way it'll be. I'm hooked.)
So from my heart to you... Thank You! You all have my sincere wish that your blessings this Christmas be as happy and glorious as mine. Twer that the case, this would be a wondrously happy world.

Merry Christmas to you!
Jimbo
