I'm a semi retired patent agent, but its not about that; I've been married to a beautiful woman since she was 18 and I was 21 in 1968.
My dream in life since 1953 when my dad died was to own our property again on Deadman Creek (we say "crick") and in Oct. of 2000 we were able to buy 30 acres of the place back. Now we have a cabin on the old place and go there whenever we can. And I'm doing what I can to eventually build a porch on the front, hence "Jimbo's Front Porch".
One thing I'm doing to raise funds for the building project is turning and hand carving wood crochet hooks from branch wood I collect from the ranch. Proceeds from sales go into the building fund such as it is.
Ok.. nuf about me.. I spect more will come out as this grows.
Wow what a great prize! Ok I started a crochet and needles group at church to make hats, afghans and other goodies with our blessed talent. And also taught another friend to crochet and she is wonderful. I think she was made to crochet it's in her blood already, yea another Crocheter for our cause. Yea for another new hook, Keep calm and hook on...
I've been helping a friend at work crochet a baby afghan for her new grandson. I've taught her some by "show and tell" but I've started easing her into being able to read and follow patterns. She's doing well and has been able to figure out a few rows by herself. I'm very proud of her learning new things, especially since we're both in our early 50s.
Thank you for offering this beautiful hook. I enjoy sharing my love of crocheting by donating lapghans to a local nursing home and teaching others to crochet.
I will be giving a crocheted edged fleece in the pink ribbon pattern for Breast Cancer Survivors to a new friend of mine who shares my journey and recently opened up to me about her own. Those who are peaceful unsung "warriors" in the fight of their life deserve support, and thru crochet - it is one small way I can show it to them! -Mary (Aka - shuttlebuggy)

Olá amiga, tenho um blog sobre artes em geral, o Agulha e Tricot by Tita Carré, já visitastes? Adoro teu blog, sempre tem coisas lindas, ,beijokas (via Jimbo)
I like to think that my way of celebrating international crochet day is to work on another blanket for our wounded warriors. I donate locally blankets for their cause....my way of passing it forward for all they've done for all of us. Thank YOU for all you do for the crochet community and your followers.
Now that you have made me aware that this wonderful day is ever so close—I am going to crochet in public SOMEWHERE and make a cotton bullion coaster and then give it away to the first person that expresses any interest in what im doing!!! hows that for sharing the wealth!!! Thanks for the reminder Jimbo!!! (and the handmade EXCELLENT bullion hook that I will be using that YOU created!!!)
I would love to win that beautiful hook! I've been doing a lot more crochet lately. I've recently created over a dozen designs, mainly of motifs used to create freeform apparel. I'm unable to go out and do anything, but I'll post on my crochet blog, work on crochet book reviews and edit a couple of crochet poems to celebrate the day.
Your hooks are beautiful, love them! I would love to win this hook! Thank you so much for the opportunity! I'm just working on a baby blanket for a friend's first grand baby! :)

Your hooks are true works of art! I'm from the US, but on the 12th I'll be in Canada, along with my crochet.
