4 (for bids) and the auction is closed... new owners below

A1 goes to "FULL O TLC" FOR $25

B2 now belongs to Christi for $25

C3 is going to Gleda for $50

D4 happily travels to Ladywillow for $35

From left to right we have:

A1... This is an L aspen that's got some pretty dark grain character, especially on the handle end (i'd take a picture but that'd ruin the surprise eh?). It has a wrap around finger/thumb rest, and is about 7 1/2 inches long, really lightweight for a large hook and ooooooh smooth.

B2...I'm thinking this one's Mountain Ash, graduated from feeding pretty red berries to birds, to crocheting whatever your creative heart desires a J hook to do. This one also has some very pretty grain character, and is oh, about 7 1/4 inches long. No thumb flat but if you want one, I'll cheerfully fire in a happy little thumb rest for you (recall Bob the painter guy on Public TV?).

C3...Here we have another J only made from the generous old apple tree (good dead branches are getting a bit rare lately with all those who decided that since they couldn't feed the deers and bear, they'd venture off on their own to become hooks). Anyways, this one is also about 7 1/4 inches long and does have a thumb rest.

D4...Best for last? May be. I tell you something. This is a hook i whittled on a whim just to see how well i could fit my thumb and forefinger or middle finger either in a overhand or underhand grip. And i was amazed that it works either way. Plus i went way out of the usual Jimbo line and left this one (its made of Pacific Yew)with saw marks so its a little "rough" but smooth if i can get that image across. Maybe if you think of the intro to Proud Mary..Tina Turner's version? Anyways this is in the H range, maybe 7 inches long and its itchin to get that big wheel turnin.
