YEW AND ASPEN HOOKS SOLD!! (BIDDING CLOSED) YEW SELLS FOR $47 TO SHELLY: ASPEN HOOK SOLD TO MONET FOR $53!!!
(IMAGE IS CLICKABLE)
Oh boy here are some beauties for bids.
The top hook is made from gen-u-ine Deadman Crick Aspen that's spalted, a rare situation when you catch a piece of wood just before it becomes punky and rots. Some of the grain turns dark as you see. Oh its a beauty!
This hook is in the N range and is about seven and a half inches long.
For bid puropses, lets call it hook A for Aspen.
The bottom hook is Pacific Yew. I've never worked with a nicer hook wood. It's hard yet just a little flexible. This is the very same wood that Robin Hood used to make his bows. Not the same tree, mind you, but the same wood. Holey cow is this wood silky and sooo beautiful!
THIS hook is in the H range and is about six and three quarters inches long.
For bid purposes, lets call this hook Y for Yew (clever huh)
Ok I'll post bids as they come in below, and lets make this one for a week, to end next Friday night, same time (10pm Pacific Std)
You can email bids to me at jimbocrochetwhittler@yahoo.com

And we have Velma starting off with a $25 bid
only to be bumped by JoAnn's $30 bid!
Lynn sends in a BIG raise to....40.13
I love this... and I quote: "Monet Crochet is having a great day when Jimbo whittles away!".... and bumps the bid to $45.00!!
Oh but Lynn is back and this time asks for the Aspen at $51.13!!!
Monet might have to sell some lillypad paintings, but ups the bid anyway to $53!!
BYTHEWAY.... Did I mention this hook is soooooo light i have to keep it tethered lest it floats away. Ok i exaggerated, but it IS light.. Just maybe the lightest N you ever hefted.
