From the cool in the air this morning, I think it's about time to pull some yarn and a hook and get going on some winter scarfs. One of your hooks I would love to add to my "just plain old hooks". Thank You!

I'm working on scrumbles for a freeform scrumble swap. Saw your shout out on Rav! I have an apple tree in the front corner of my tiny city yard. It gives away half its apples and one year, when the bees were still plentiful it enabled me to give the food pantry 400 pounds of apple.

On International Crochet Day, I'll be crocheting on my way to school on the bus. (One of the younger kids finds it fun to watch me while I work. I don't mind, but she sure is funny!) I'd love to win one of your hooks! Happy ICD!

To celebrate International Crochet Day I will be crocheting in my sons school yard. I want to choose something the kids will be interested in so that it may start a new generation of crocheters. I think I may crochet a dragon :-)

For ICD I plan to spend the time crocheting wherever I can...waiting in line at the post office (while mailing my BFF her some crocheted things for her newborn son!), treating myself to bagels and green tea at Panera, and waiting to pick up my sons from school. (It's a long wait since I get there two hours early just so I'll have time to crochet! LOL)

Since I work in my home, I'll be crocheting on my back deck while the little one that I watch is napping! I will also be posting about ICD in my group on Ravelry! Thanks for this give away, Jimbo!

To promote *National Crochet Day* I will be crocheting in the cafeteria of
my son's high school cafeteria which is where my child and all the other
kids talk together and wait to be picked up after school. Whenever I do
this, people of all ages always, always, come up to me and ask me what I am
making and then proceed to tell me I remind them about when their mother or
their grandmother used to crochet. Sometimes they also ask me to show them
how to do a stitch.
Sincerely,
Sharon (via Jimbo)

Hi,
My best friend, Rita and I plan to celebrate this wonderful and fantastic day! How? Her husband will drop her off at my house. I will have some cheese, bagel and pita chips, hummus, carrot and celery sticks waiting. What goes well with that? A nice bottle of wine from one of our local wineries. We call it our stitching and sipping day. We try to get together once a week. A special toast will be made in honor of the day! We then spend the next four hours chatting, laughing, and crocheting. Then her husband arrives to pick her up. We have the best time and it is such a stress reliever.

On International Crochet Day I plan to have a sip & stitch session with a friend. She and I met at a local crochet group became friends. The afternoon will center around crochet but will include snacks and beverages of the fermented grape variety. My dear husband whom I hooked many years ago supports this event (a somewhat regular occurrence) by providing transportation.

Just made plans to spend my lunch hour assisting a new crocheter at my office. She's been coming to my office for the past few days and I offered up a lesson for ICD.

Hope the health problems improve quickly! It's always fun to see your hooks. You are so generous to share them.

It has been busy here with not so much crochet time (son and family coming to visit from CO in two weeks), but I'll definitely be making time Friday for crocheting (at the local grill and at home) and encouraging everyone who comments to give crochet a try.

I will be working on hooking up pumpkin hats for all the children, teacher, and aides for his developmental preschool class for their upcoming field trip to the dairy farm and pumpkin patch. While at the hospital my Grandson and I will be delivering our next 'batch' of hats to the cancer ward!

I’m actually working I will be working on my crocheted sweater in the break room. This is my first crocheted sweater, the dana cowl pullover. I finished the front and back and now am working on the first sleeve. How is this promoting crochet? I am a knit and crochet in public all of the time type of person and I’ve even taught some of my co-workers how to crochet and the difference between crochet and knit. Everyone knitter who has seen the sweater, as well as people who teach knitting professionally at a national knitting conference recently have been astonished that the sweater was crocheted and not knitted and that they have to rethink crochet.
I think the coolest moment though was when I was at a work conference in Chicago. Apparently, a crochet group yarnbombed the headrests of the shuttle buses used to take us to and from the convention center. One of my male colleagues looks at the headrest covers and says “look crocheted covers”. I guess for me, every day is international crochet day.

Thanks for having the contest and promoting crochet!
