What do i do with "blems"?

Here's the thing.
I have two hooks that are fine except for some finish issues (i experimented with shelac and decided i dont like the glossy sort of finish it produces).
So.... rather than just chuck them.... I'd like to give them away in some fun kind of manner but can't think of what to do.
So.... I'm casting about here for some ideas. Got any suggestions?

Oh, and thanks for stopping by!

some sort of contest-trivia, etc.

I'm with the other two commentors...trivia. You could take several pictures of your property asking people where you are going to build or take pictures of sticks asking which one was used to make a certain hook and have it last a month long so you can get more people into it.

Jim
If you do something, where someone might win one, that would really be great, but please don't chuck them.....you spend a lot of time whittling those hooks, that would be a pure waste:( make someone happy, by winning one!!!

ok, I say hold a contest where entrants tell yuo their most ingenious way to use a crochet hook without crocheting.

Good ideas all! Plus i had another via email from Funkyreporter (and embellished a bit by me). She's suggesting them as prizes for the best sob story.. something akin to: Ooooooh Jimbo i need one of your hooks because i don't even have a body. My body is a sack of leaves someone sewed to my head so my mother is writing this for me. The burlap keeps getting unraveled and i need one of your hooks that i can hold in my mouth so i can make repairs especially after the boys in my P E class use me for second base.
But i can pay too... just give me your bank account number so i can deposit 12 million i snuck away from Elvis while he was distracted by those alien hussies from Mars.

ok. so its another idea......

I have had surgary in my hands due to carpol tunnel and those hooks would be fantastic in keeping me from getting tired hand symdrome due to the partial disability I have in my hands you due great work and someday I will finally get to have one of those wonderful tools

I like the trivia/contest idea, maybe based on something historical from your 'neck of the woods', but the sob story is pretty funny too, (did I tell you about the time I lost my arm in a tug of war...just kidding) I'm sure what ever you come up with, it will be fitting. :) Pam

How about "Why I need a crochet hook made by Jimbo?"
"How I would take care of a hook that was made by Jimbo."
Aww, You will come up with something......Contest sounds good though..

How about contacting the Local Girl Scouts and see if they might be interested in them for thier kids. Also the Boys and Girls Clubs might also be able to use them.
