I'm a semi retired patent agent, but its not about that; I've been married to a beautiful woman since she was 18 and I was 21 in 1968.
My dream in life since 1953 when my dad died was to own our property again on Deadman Creek (we say "crick") and in Oct. of 2000 we were able to buy 30 acres of the place back. Now we have a cabin on the old place and go there whenever we can. And I'm doing what I can to eventually build a porch on the front, hence "Jimbo's Front Porch".
One thing I'm doing to raise funds for the building project is turning and hand carving wood crochet hooks from branch wood I collect from the ranch. Proceeds from sales go into the building fund such as it is.
Ok.. nuf about me.. I spect more will come out as this grows.
Here's a fresh batch. Several are spoken for, but others will be put up for auction. More on that later, but for now i have to go to work. Check'em out! And thanks for stopping by! Jimbo
Thanks guys! That red one is made of Padouk. Not a crick native, Padouk is a wood that is sold at Woodcraft where i work. And unlike the crick wood, Padouk is pretty uppity and self centered.... like its beneath it to become a crochet hook. Crick wood, on the other hand, loves to become crochet hooks. I might try to coax some more Padouk to become hooks, and if i do, i'll put them up for bids. Very pretty wood, but it knows it, if you know what i mean.
