Love your blog and your hooks! Golda is ...Hi Jimbo! Love your blog and your hooks! Golda is a treasure! I found the recipe yesterday and ran to town today got the ingredients and they are nearly finished baking right now and boy, do they smell good! It makes me think of my Polish Grandmothers kitchen and all the pickled goodies hiding down in the fruit cellar. The tender roast beef, crisp green salad with the tangy "Good Seasons" you used to make in the little cruet. Pickled crab apples that my Grandfather loved and would eat as many as he could get away with, excusing himself from the table a few times to get rid of the apple core evidence thinking he was outsmarting my Grandmother on how many he had put away. She always knew and never said a word. We sat at a big square oak table in the tiniest dining room you could imagine. We kids would sit on the piano bench which both served as a dining bench and a piano playing bench. My Grandma Connie was the one who taught me to crochet 45 years ago and of anything I learned to do in my life I think that is one of the best, as I crochet everyday to this day. I wish I could eat one of Golda's meals. Then sit, crochet, have a cup o' tea and crochet and listen to some of her life stories. How about a book about her life? I'd buy it! Would she consider maybe sharing some more recipes or a Golda cook book?
Thanks so much for sharing a bit of Golda! Gotta go, the meatballs are ready!
R. She taught me to sew and crochet at a very early age. Over 50 yrs later, am still enjoying both. Granny has been gone since 95, and still miss her daily, especially all our hours of crocheting together. God bless you for all the charity donations.
KatymontroseKatymontrosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918483081659842895noreply@blogger.com
